Bean weevils are an excellent source of protein for smaller lizards and amphibians such as dart frogs and predatory invertebrates. Bean weevils spend the larval stage of their lives inside black eyed beans and emerge as adults, reproduce and lay their eggs on the beans surface before being fed off. Due to their short life span weevils are sent out in a culture to ensure fresh adults emerge over a set time period. Cultures are available either as fresh cultures that have just been made (Please note it will take some time before you see adults emerge) or established cultures (These will be ready to use on arrival as adults will have already started to emerge).
